So the target demographic might be 14+ and female, and at first I only liked them because they were Christians-in-a-band, but I have no shame, and their latest record is actually really very good. The lead singer, Hayley Williams, has an amazingly powerful voice which at times on this new release reminds me of hearing Skunk Anansie for the first time (and stopping what I was doing to appreciate the emotion and power in Skin's voice).

Anyway, just to re-iterate, get and listen to their record 'Brand New Eyes' on Spotify.

This is a blog about the enjoyment of great music, regardless of the social implications therein.

A good tune is irrepressible, standing up to the insult onslaught brought about by irrelevant factors; factors like the fact that its target audience is 13-year-old girls, or that it is played 7 times an hour on BBC Radio 1, or that it's from the breakthrough album by that band everyone loved until they went mainstream.
